Reaching New Heights with National Athletes

How can we not be thrilled? Internally, when these two names came up in our weekly discussions, we were excited. We mean it. We cannot wait to tell their stories and get our brands out there. It’s a great feeling to have a connection to these two young and talented riders; both are embodiments of determination and passion.

Their love for cycling began at a young age. Arfan, who has been cycling since he was 3 years old, started taking it seriously at the age of 16. Although he is now more focused on developing himself in road biking, part of him still has a love for MTB. Some of his remarkable achievements last year include 6th place in the National Road Championship – IRR and 4th place in the National Road Championship – ITT. Along with Riyadh, he was also selected to represent Singapore in the Class 2.1 UCI Tour of Thailand in March this year.

Next, when talking about this man, we certainly cannot overlook MTB. MTB has always been in Riyadh’s DNA. Holding the title of National Champion in various disciplines, from MTB XCO, Road Race, to Downhill, Riyadh is currently pursuing his passion to achieve success in various major races in MTB cross-country. One of Riyadh’s major achievements this year was securing 2nd place at the UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup in Palangkaraya, Indonesia (May 19) and securing good place in Stage 2 (23th/90) and Stage 6 (29th/86) in Tour of Thailand.

Events: An Energy Exchange Space with Fellow Cyclists

The soul of cycling is community, and the most fun way to meet new friends is through events! Starting the initiative to activate riding events with customers last year, this year we are committed to offering more exciting experiences, and to be one step closer to various communities.

It’s All About Learning

Rodalink Jurong East bike clinic - share and learn together

This year’s Bike Clinic series started in March. In the Bike Clinic, in collaboration with Podium Performance and powered by Elite, we discussed how to elevate performance in indoor cycling. The discussion was attended by training enthusiasts and turned into a relaxed and enjoyable sharing session. At the end of the event, participants had the opportunity to join a rapid quiz and win exciting prizes.

Additionally, the second series of the Bike Clinic, which covered Bike Maintenance in April, was well-received by cyclists. The two-hour session seemed too short to satisfy curiosity because the skill of maintaining your own bike is a must!

Fresh Social Ride Format? Why Not!

Stepping up to offer exciting experiences for loyal customers, this year we also cycled 20km in the OCBC Cycle event. Passing various iconic landmarks in Singapore and routes that are usually not accessible by bike. A fresh experience for customers who faithfully join our social rides!

“I really look forward to joining big events like this,” said one of the participants. A total of 22 selected loyal customers, and the community, enjoyed the excitement of the day together with thousands of other cyclists.

Seeing more smiles on that day was priceless.

Up and Coming

We hope the first half of this year has been a good start to ignite the cycling spirit. Our mission is to be an inclusive space where cyclists can connect with each other, share their love of the sport, and inspire more people to embrace a healthy lifestyle. Step by step, we’re getting there. Watch this space and happy World Bicycle Day!
