Early in the morning, thousands of bike lights were seen illuminating the Singapore Sports Hub on Sunday (May 12). Cycling enthusiasts from various parts of Singapore chatted enthusiastically at the start point to participate in the OCBC Cycle 2024 event, including us, Rodalink. Together with 22 selected loyal customers and community representatives, we began our journey exploring a different side of Singapore!
“This is my first time joining the OCBC ride,” said Gabriel, one of Rodalink Singapore’s customers. That day, together with his Polygon Strattos S5 road bike, he cycled from his home in the eastern part of Singapore. Participating in this big event was something he had been looking forward to since he started taking up cycling at the end of last year. “I really look forward to joining big events like this.”
Considering the large crowd that day, the Rodalink group was divided into two groups – one at the front, following Wave 1; the rest at the back, following Wave 2. The iconic scenery of Lion City made us impromptu photographers and videographers – ready with our phones and action cams!
Cycling indeed has its own magic. One of them is meeting new friends. Who knew we would meet new friends on the Benjamin Sheares Bridge, the longest bridge in Singapore, or pass the F1 Grand Prix circuit usually traversed by racing cars from around the world. Let’s not forget the beautiful sunrise peeking behind the landscape of the Singapore Flyer and Gardens by the Bay, as well as the grandeur of the CBD area which is usually crowded with vehicles during normal times.
In the midst of the fun ride, some customers from Wave 2 also tried to challenge themselves by catching up with the group that had left earlier. “One of the interesting things about events like this is we can test our limits, and that’s fun!” said one participant.
Everything about the ride that day was indeed extraordinary. The memorable adventure ended at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, where we finally finished, bringing stories home, and a promise to meet at the next social ride. “By participating in this year’s OCBC Cycle, we hope to bring exciting experiences to customers with their bikes. Our goal has always been to be a place that can inspire people to keep cycling and even start together. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone in our future social rides!” said Nancy Oktavelia, Marketing Communications Executive of Rodalink Singapore.
Every month, Rodalink Singapore has a ride schedule with customers. Check Rodalink Singapore’s event schedule or social media (@rodalinksingapore) on Instagram and Facebook and don’t miss the excitement!
